Learning season through leaves

I have been trying to teach P the four seasons and it has been quite a challenge as we practically have just summer, monsoon and an apology of winter season. So the concept of fall and spring season is quite far fetched for him.

This week’s activity was to try and introduce him to fall and spring. I decided to do it with leaves – when in doubt fall back on good ol’ mother nature. I had some old leaves that I had pressed in books and thought it will be best to do something around them.

I explained how leaves fall during the fall season for new leaves to come in spring. Post which we took out our dried leaves and started drawing patterns on it with a silver pen.

I demonstrated one to P, but after a few attempts at geometric shaped he preferred to practice his ‘Y’ and  ‘Z’. We then stuck them on to cards and sent out a birthday card for granny.
